Bodegas Leza García had an “excellent” harvest in 2009.

Bodegas Leza García had an “excellent” harvest in 2009. The yield requirements by the Appellation Rioja and the rest of the parameters such as “alcohol and color content” were considered of high quality. The Leza García family values the quality and development of the harvest as “completely positive.”

This was partially achieved through our green harvest in August. The 2009 harvest enjoyed a dry and sunny climate that helped the healthy arrival of the grapes to the winery. Also, the grapes arrived at the winery with a potential high alcohol content, high polyphenols (future wine color) and very balanced acidity, which is characteristic of our terroir in Uruñuela, in the heart of the Rioja Alta.

Our family thinks “the grapes have evolved very well during the vinification process, producing acid-balanced and well-structured juice. Also, it is believed that there will be less color loss than on previous vintages, giving finished wines of intense color.

“In short: the 2009 harvest has produced wines of highly aromatic, with excellent structure and alcoholic content and easy to enjoy.”
